Sports Complex

The entire
sports complex is conceived as an Organic Landscape in
itself, which identifies with the forestry around and reflects
the tribal state of Jharkhand’s landscape famous for its
beautiful waterfalls, lakes and hills. The built mass on the
site is designed in such a way that it seems to be emerging
from this landscape setting announcing the arrival of the
state as a new hub for technical advancements.

The
plethora of World Class Sports Facilities within one large
complex is planned in such a way that there is excellent
connectivity between each sporting facility. The entire
complex is planned around the main central axis with
promenade to facilitate pedestrian movement and 100-ft wide road
to allow smooth flow of all kinds of vehicular traffic.

TENSION
STRUCTURE USING COMLITE ROOFING
-
Large span steel
structure main arch span, up to 300 m.
-
Combination of two
different structural systems, compression arch and tension bars
attached to the upper sides of the steel arch and suspended from
the steel tubular pylons.
-
The four pylons are
each guided with tension bars into foundations.
-
Every pylon is
strategilly located at concrete staircase structures
-
The weight of
concrete is used to balance uplift from the tension bars,
reducing overall foundation cost.
-
Overall weight of
steel estimated 60 kg/m for complete roof structure

TENSION
STRUCTURE USING COMLITE ROOFING
-
Simple and
economical steel structures.
-
Large span brought
under control structurally by means of the suspended structure
applied using pylons.
-
Tension bars fan
out from the head of the pylon to the suspension points of main
roof girders and are anchored to the foundations.
-
The entire open
roof steel structure is composed of tubular profiles. The
tubular profiles are to be welded airtight.
-
Material used high
strength steel (fy=460 mpa) and pre-tensioned steel bars.

Gymnastic,
Judo, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Fencing & Boxing
Alternate Design : Prefab Roofing Memebrane System
Use prefabricated
lightweight woven electrical grade fiber glass substrate with
Teflon pate coating.
Entire roofing of all the stadia can be pre engineered & put in
place within days.

Some international stadiums covered
by membranes:
-
Olympic stadium,
Sydney.
-
King Fahd
International Stadium, Riyadh.
-
Track & Field
Stadium, Hiroshima
-
Olympic Stadium,
Rome.
-
Also proposed in
India for the first time at International Cricket Stadium at
Raipur.
ENTRANCE & CIRCULATION
The admin. building is planned as an entrance portal to
the sports complex. The central axis starts through this and
culminates into a roundabout. Here, the visual corridor
continues, opening views to the forest. Access to
individual building with VIP drop-off points is provided
at every facility. A ceremonial entrance is made possible
at the main athletic stadium
